Young people spend more spare time on art activities

A recent report shows that during the eleventh five-year period, Chinese youth will expand the range of their leisure activities by spending more time on art activities, entertainment and physical exercise, as well as art appreciation. The report, titled "Chinese Youth's Development during the Tenth Five-Year Period and Its Prospects during the Eleventh Five-Year Period", was compiled by the China Youth and Children Research Center (CYCRC). The report points out that during the tenth five-year period (2000-2005), young people's leisure activities were not enough. However, as leisure industry further develops during the eleventh five-year period (2006-2010), more high-class cultural venues, sci-tech venues, art centers, museums, libraries, and parks will be built in China. At the same time, facilities linked with culture and high-class leisure activities will be put in place in many community centers.
