BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- A current of cold air from Siberia will affect northern and eastern regions of China over the weekend, bringing snow to three northeastern provinces, sources with the State Meteorological Observatory said on Friday.

Temperature will fall from four to ten degrees Celsius in northern and eastern regions, and some areas will experience a drop of as much as 12 degrees Celsius, the sources added.

Moderate to strong north winds will sweep parts of northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, some other northwestern areas and northern and northeastern regions.

Parts of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and most northeastern regions will have slight to moderate snow or sleet. Some of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces will see heavy snow, the sources said.
