Shanghai's top league soccer club Shenhua has slightly cut its ticket prices for the 2007 season to attract and hold onto fans after it moved its home-field to Pudong and merged with rival club Shanghai United. The face value of each ticket will range from 20 yuan (US$2.58) to 100 yuan, with 50 yuan and 80 yuan for alternatives, Jiefang Daily said today. The season package for 14 games has been priced at 200 yuan. During last year's games, the most expensive tickets were sold for 120 yuan each. Fans could often buy a ticket for five yuan from scalpers before a match. Shenhua, the city's only top league soccer club, has moved its home-field from Puxi's Hongkou Football Stadium to the Yuanshen Stadium in Pudong. The Hongkou stadium is under renovation because it will be hosting this year's Women's FIFA World Cup in the autumn. Trackback(0)
