Recently, Shanda announced that they will invest an additional sum of RMB 100 million (12.92 million USD) in the form of registered capital in www.cmfu.com. This marks the third time that Shanda has increased their investment in the Internet website since purchasing it in 2004. Also, this is the largest influx of money that Shanda has put into the website since acquiring it. The company claims that the investment is earmarked to enable www.cmfu.com to expand their overseas market.

Shanda has stated that the company will support www.cmfu.com through increasing investment and by planning to refashion the website into a specialized and internationalized platform for originally created literature. www.cmfu.com will also launch comprehensive managerial development plan which will lead to the training of existing employees and the implementation of a welfare incentive system..

Reportedly, www.cmfu.com will seek a new commercial model and will undertake new operations in the fields of advertising and the selling of wireless products, such as WAP and KJAVA. The website will also be involved in print publishing, film and TV program adaptation, and various other quasi-media related pop culture events including the trend of "cosplay". In addition to this, the company will also seek cooperation with other companies and will develop numerous derivative products in associated media. In conjunction with these domestic activities, www.cmfu.com will expand to the overseas market.

www.cmfu.com was founded in 2002 and was acquired by Shanda in October, 2004. According to the information released by Shanda, www.cmfu.com currently has over 7 million registered users, more than 80,000 original authors and over 90,000 originally created novels with the total number of over 6 billion words. On October 27, 2006 Shanda announced that the highest page views of www.cmfu.com had exceeded 100 million every day and had become the Web 2.0 website taking the lead in earnings.
