Q4 profit jumps

Want Want Holdings Ltd, a Singapore-listed maker of rice crackers and sweets, said yesterday fourth-quarter profit rose 18 percent, helped by higher sales in China. It also said increasing costs may hurt profit margins. Net income rose to US$46.7 million, or 3.62 cents a share, from US$39.5 million, or 3.06 cents, a year earlier, the company said. For the year, profit rose 13 percent to US$128.4 million.
