Offshore oil output

China may double its oil output from fields off the country's coast in five years, with CNOOC Ltd contributing the most to the increase. China will pump 40 million tons (about 800,000 barrels a day) of oil a year from offshore fields in five years, from more than 20 million tons now, Gao Zhiguo, executive director of the China Institute of Marine Affairs, said yesterday in Beijing.
