BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua)-- Lau Nai-keung was appointed a member of the Committee for the Basic Law of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) on Wednesday.

His appointment was adopted at a session of the NPC Standing Committee.

Born in 1947, Lau is a member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a member of the Election Committee of the Third Term Chief Executive of HKSAR.

He served as a member of the seventh, eighth and ninth National Committee of the CPPCC and a member of the Selection Committee for the First Government of HKSAR.
