JAFCO pumps funds into Kingsoft Japan

Kingsoft Corp said yesterday its Japanese subsidiary received a venture capital investment from JAFCO and said the injection signals a big leap in going global for China's flagship software and online game firm. Following the injection, Kingsoft Japan is now valued 2.5 billion yen (US$22 million), according to the both parties, which declined to reveal details such as the investment amount and share structure. Kingsoft will still keep a controlling stake in the subsidiary, the Beijing-based company said.
