The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has stated recently that in order to meet the needs of overseas students, staff working overseas and people in short-term travel abroad, an online personal overseas remittance service will be launched. From now on, "personal Internet bank" users can remit up to 50,000 U.S. dollars or the equivalent amounts in foreign currency to persons who have opened an account outside the country. This service includes "remit-out business" and "remit-out business inquiry" features and supports the world's major currencies, including the sterling, the Hong Kong dollar, the U.S. dollar, the Swiss francs, the Singapore dollar, the Swedish and Danish kroners, the NOK, the yen, the Canadian dollar, the Australian dollar, the Euro and the New Zealand dollar. By going to any ICBC branch, registering a personal internet banking account ("finance @ home"), opening a transfer-out authority and applying for a U Dun (personal client certificate), customers enjoy online funds transfer services.
