HK shares decline; Huiyuan Juice surges in debut

Hong Kong blue chips fell 0.5 percent on Friday as Hutchison Whampoa (0013.HK: Quote, Profile , Research) slid after the amount of the special dividend it was to receive from Hutchison Telecommunications International Ltd. (2332.HK: Quote, Profile , Research) disappointed. Investors also booked profits in property stocks while HSBC Holdings Plc. (0005.HK: Quote, Profile , Research) remained under pressure despite announcing management changes at its troubled U.S. operations. "I suppose this is a typical, skittish sell-off with everybody suddenly rushing to the exit at once," said John Schofield, director at Tempus Investment. "I think it's going to be a bit like this for a little while, but the trend is still up for the Hang Seng (Index)."
